Croat (Austria)
Croats (don't mix with nationality) constituted a light cavalry intended for violent raids into enemy's rear, reconnaissance, and frontier service.
The main feature of these fighters was their speed and maneuverability. Naturally, they were inferior to heavy cavalry in attack power, but that was
easily countervailed with their maneuvers, ambushes, and sudden raids into the rear or flanks. Croats were usually equipped with a saber, a pair of
pistols, and a short flint musket.
